John's Linking Summary
It's the ‘write-post-edit’ method for sharing links on LinkedIn - the best way to share links in LinkedIn posts without affecting the reach of your posts:
1. Write your post as normal but DO NOT include the external link you want to share. 2. Click Post to publish the post. 3. Click Edit post in the ellipsis (…) menu in the top-right corner of the post. Type or paste in the external link you want to share. Click Save. Again, post without a link then edit and add the link. There’s no need to wait between steps 2 and 3. |
Another Handy Tip
If you remove the http:// or https:// part of the address and type in www at the beginning instead, the link will be more prominent and clickable for both mobile and desktop LinkedIn.
Note that some web addresses don’t work with this prefix but most do.

P.S. Better engagement with this “sharing” hack? Share a good post, but skip the Share arrow and try this instead. From the top More (...) menu, copy link to post, paste link into your new post, delete copied link characters and add your new comments.
